Singha's Camping Trip

by Jeff Strunk on Mar 06 2010

Singha spent the night outside.

Last night, Singha ran out the door unnoticed. This morning, Jessi noticed he was missing. We searched all over the house. We looked in every closet and cabinet. Even the appliances were searched. We looked behind everything in the garage. Singha was not in the house. :(

I enlisted Bierje to help search for him. She was crying out either because she missed her brother or she was excited that he was gone. For a minute I thought she looked a little plump. I put the leash on her, and we went outside. She was as unhelpful as could be. She just plopped down in the grass and started eating. Typical.

After I took her inside, I went onto the deck and called Singha's name a few times. There was no answer and no cat running toward me. I walked down the stairs and called his name again. I heard a very faint meow. I called him again, and he moved around in the tall grass right next to me and came onto the landing. I picked him up. He purred. He smelled awful and was covered in plant matter. I carried him upstairs to the shower and gave him a bath.

Now he is a clean, fed, and hydrated cat sleeping off a difficult night in the wild.
